Touchstone has been awarded NHS funding to run a Crisis Café in the early evening and night. The aim of the Cafe is to divert people who would be better supported elsewhere, away from Accident and Emergency (A&E) and other crisis services in Leeds & Kirklees. The service will be delivered in partnership with Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service (LSLCS) in Leeds, including the Basement Project in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.
The Crisis Café provides a non-clinical setting to support up to 12 individuals at a time to access support. We are seeking experienced staff to work in the Well Bean Crisis Café, which supports people in crisis as an alternative to A&E.
The post holder will support people in acute distress, including one to one support, support planning and liaison with local services. The service has initially been currently operating as a pilot scheme in Huddersfield. Due to the success it will now continue with the new allocation of funding and is be immobilised in Dewsbury.
The service will run between the hours of 6.00pm – 12:00am, with additional office/administration hours required. Incorporating a 6 day service, – to be operating across Kirklees including weekends.
It would be expected that staff recruited in Kirklees would need to be flexible in covering both Huddersfield & Dewsbury sites to cover in the event of staff shortages including sickness/staff holidays
We are looking to recruit people with personal experience of mental distress and substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self harm and supporting people from BME and LGBT communities.
If you would like an informal discussion or further information regarding the posts advertised, please contact Jayne Moss (Kirklees Well Bean Café Service Manager) on 07552490376.
CLOSING DATE: 28 April 2019
